ONLY A WEEK TO GO.....

With exactly a week to go before I fly, I sit here in the comfort of my room wondering what experiences I will encounter and how I will feel before I return to such luxuries that we so easily take for granted.

Today is the day it really all starts……it’s time to start popping those pills, Antimalaria pills. After reading the side effects I’m not sure I want to but then I have only two choices one of which far outweighs the other!!

It took a while to get my visa and after being turned away at the embassy after queuing in the rain for over two hours, I figured this was something I will have to get used to (the rain and the queues). It was sorted in the end with a little extra cash and a bit more of a wait, hence delaying my departure by a few weeks.

I was pleased to escape my course of (expensive) Rabies jabs with little more then a few headaches after expecting to be dribbling from the mouth and having an urge to lick or bite people. So now apart from topping up my first aid kit with the joys of Diarrhea tablets, head lice shampoo, tummy settlers and such like. I am almost there, ah but my insurance, sleeping bag, back pack, day bag.............OK thinking about it this list could go on.

WILL I EVER REALLY BE READY?

The next time I write you will find out…………..
